EXPLANATIONS :
1. In order to begin their doctoral studies, candidates must either pass the Proficiency Exam given by the School of Foreign Languages or have obtained a sufficient score in other English exams as indicated.
2. The students must take up to 18 semester hours of courses, in the scientific preparatory classes depending on their majors and as deemed appropriate by their academic advisors. Scientific preparatory courses are taken before doctoral courses and preparatory class should be completed in two semesters at most. If necessary, the students may be given other undergraduate courses that are not indicated in the scientific preparatory classes, for up to 18 semester hours.
3- Scientific preparatory courses are shown in transcripts but not included in doctoral grade point calculations. Students who pass scientific preparatory courses with a minimum of CC and reach to a cumulative GPA of 2.50 on these preparatory classes may enroll to doctoral courses.
4. The students who begin their doctoral studies as graduates are required to take two additional "Minor" courses.
5. The students who cannot succesfully complete the Literature Review course are not permitted to take second year courses.
6. If deemed necessary, with the advice of the advisor and the approval of the Head of the related department, the students may be required to take some master's program courses other than those indicated for the doctoral studies. |
